  Well, tomorrow is the start of Thing-a-Day, it will be my 4th year participating in the month-long creative sprint. The idea is to spend up to 30 minutes a day, every day, making something new.  A few weeks ago I started using a mason jar for my to-go cup. It goes in the dishwasher without any fuss and holds a ton of coffee or tea or water and the lid doesn't leak. Our neighbors next door are the sweetest, every time our power goes out they call to check on us to make sure we're okay. The snow has been piling thick all day but fortunately the power stayed on so I decided to bake a batch of cookies. I have an excess of rolled oats at the moment so I made up a batch of oatmeal cookies with dried cherries in them. SO good. This was such a simple little project that required going through my bag of trims and scraps. Its a little 9 inch square blanket with loops on the outside for easy grabbing. We're preparing for a big storm. I spent a good deal of the day preparing my house for a possible power outage. At the end of the day my back was so sore all I could manage was a bit of sketching while I watched some Big Love. It has been a long time since I drew anything other than a doodle. For Day 13 I put together a tea for some of the women in my life, we drank Ruby Sipper tea I made this lovely bruschetta, (It was DIVINE! One more Valentine decoration. I saw this tutorial and was inspired to make a little garland for my chandelier. I used felt circles instead of felted balls and I strung the hearts up and down instead of horizontally just because I liked the look better that way. Last summer I picked up a bunch of doilies while garage sale-ing to use in crafting. One was just too pretty to cut up but it was stained and off-white. Today I made a little something for myself. I bought this little charm a few years ago, meaning to make myself a mama necklace with one little egg in the nest to represent my son. I got out my jewelry supplies for yesterday's thing. Of course, again, I finished it after it was too dark to photograph so I am posting it this morning. I love the look of chain tassels, I use them a lot in the jewelry I make. Be blessed.
