Hello, 2012! Looking back on 2011

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2012, folks. Yeah, I'm 3 days late in the game, but guess what? My New Year's resolution this year is to be kinder to myself. So I'm not going to beat myself up about it!

I had been dreading looking at my 2011 to-do list because I didn't want to be reminded of all the stuff I didn't do this year, but as I was checking it off, I realized that despite not doing some stuff on the list, I actually completed half of it! (And a little more than half of it if you put some of the partially completed items on the list together, such as writing in my journal every day until Forrest was born, completing 5 books and being halfway through about 3 others.)
2011 To-Do List
Make Myself at Least 2 Articles of Clothing here and here
Take a Ballet Class
Learn How to Use My Serger
Work With Resin
Get Rid of 100 Things
Organize a Girl’s Night Out
Attempt a Cathedral Quilt Square (A Pillow Perhaps?)
Write Poetry
Leave a Toy-Society Drop
Make Treats and Bring them To My Neighbors
Journal At Least One Line a Day
Take Maternity Photos
Try a new food
Write More Letters
Leave a 100% Tip
Read 12 books
Make a diorama
Volunteer
Update my shops at least once a week
Spend one whole day with my family at the river this summer
Go camping
Save up for something my honey really wants
Hem/Repair clothing from my household that needs it
Pay off our credit cards
Go a week without electronic distractions (no internet, computer, movies, etc)
Master Oven Roasting a whole chicken
Some of this stuff I just ran out of free time to do, others I just kind of forgot about. I made blogging over at Mama Compton more of a priority in 2011, which I hope to continue in 2012. (I'm on a feminism and faith kick right now, if it's something you're interested, head over and join the conversation.) It was a really good year. I got a lot done craft-wise and even more done faith wise. I'm really excited about what 2012 has in store! Aren't you?

Be blessed.
